We start with the Wolverine Origin series, and I couldn’t be happier with this choice. It is on here, this blog, that I will chronicle my journey from apprentice to … a much more well informed apprentice. I do not know where I will end up or what I will learn, but I have a solid mentor of the art form that has given me an epic collection of comic books to read. I’m in the prime of my life, and I am dedicating a part of it to the likes of Stan Lee and Kevin Smith. This is largely ironic because it’s only after acquiring a decent job and lifestyle that I felt able to immerse myself in a world as robust as the Marvel or DC Universe.

There existed a barrier where I didn’t know which comic to start with, what comic book hero to root for, or even if I should be aligning myself with a specific company.Īnd then there’s my age, 28, which puts me in the twilight of a decade where I’m “supposed” to be doing anything but sitting around and reading comic books.
#Simon says origin movie
My interest in comic books did exist, and I followed the movie tie-ins rather closely, but there was always a disconnect of where to begin. You are reading the blog of someone who, until recently, spent a good majority of his time lost in the world of video games and traditional novels. So I have always considered myself a bit of a nerd, but my interests and hobbies never really felt aligned with my personality.
